Temporary Cell Tower Up at Hillsdale DPW Yard
The borough will receive $30,000 per year for the space.
A new temporary cell phone tower was installed at the Hillsdale Department of Public Works yard last week.
The 125-foot-tall tower contains antennas for MetroPCS, according to Borough Administrator Jonathan DeJoseph.
Hillsdale will receive $30,000 per year for hosting the tower on borough property, according to DeJoseph.

No other carriers are currently on the tower, which is temporary. DeJoseph said he did not know how long the tower would be in place. The borough is currently negotiating with several potential tenants for a permanent tower at the same location, he said.
The bid from MetroPCS to build a temporary tower at the site was approved by the Hillsdale Council in August 2011.Â
