Westwood Business Makes 'Best Places to Work' List

Modera Wealth Management, LLC, a Westwood-based company, was named one of the best 15 places to work in money management by Pensions & Investments, a biweekly trade newspaper.

The paper ranked Modera as the third best place to work with fewer than 100 employees, noting that the firm's principals "do not take much stock in formal titles or job descriptions."

Employees — they have about 30 — praised Modera's flexibility and its "supportive environment," according to the paper.

“We want our employees to have flexibility in the way they conduct their work,” Tom Orecchio, a principal at Modera, said in a press release.

Modera also pays 100 percent of its employees' continuing education costs. Fostering employee development has been a boon for the firm, according to Greg Plechner, another principal.

“A low employee turnover is a huge benefit to an organization like ours because of the consistency of the client experience,” Plechner said in a press release.

The company has one office in Westwood and another in Boston, Mass. They also made Inc. Magazine's "fastest-growing" list earlier this year.
