Westwood Businesses Offering Deals During "Go West" May 18

The event will coincide with an open house at HackensackUMC at Pascack Valley.

May 18 is going to be a big day for Westwood.

It's the same day that both HackensackUMC at Pascack Valley is hosting their open house and the Westwood Chamber of Commerce is planning to hold their second annual "Go West" shopping and dining event.

Participating businesses will be listed on a "perks page" available at the event with all of the discounts and freebies they'll be offering, according to MaryAlice Farella of Society Men.

"There's everything you could need — or want — right here," Farella said. "Of all the local Bergen County shopping towns, Westwood has the most to offer."

Money raised via donations from participating businesses raised thousands of dollars for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at last year's event, according to chamber Executive Director Joseph Abou-Daoud. This year, money raised will go to a new scholarship fund in memory of Elizabeth Fasciano, he said.

According to Abou-Daoud, thousands of people are expected to attend the hospital's open house, so they're hoping for a big turnout at "Go West" in downtown Westwood, too.

"It should be a buzzing day for Westwood," Farella said. "It's just a lot of fun."

During the hospital's open house, parking will be limited at the site, so shuttle buses will be operating from other sites around the area to transport attendees.

The buses will run from the following parking lots:

  • Pascack Valley Swim Club, 140 Tillman St., Westwood,
  • Armenian Home for the Aged, 70 Main St., Emerson,
  • Westwood Regional High School, 701 Ridgewood Rd,. Washington Township,
  • United Water, 200 Old Hook Rd., Harrington Park and
  • Chevrolet of Westwood, 39/40 Kinderkamack Rd., Westwood.
