Westwood, Hillsdale Make List Of Safest NJ Towns
Alarms.org looked at violent crime rate as part of its annual rankings.
WESTWOOD/HILLSDALE, NJ — The boroughs were named two of the safest municipalities in New Jersey in a new ranking.
Alarms.org released it annual list of the safest cities in New Jersey recently. Hillsdale was ranked No. 6. Weswood was ranked No. 10.
Hillsdale did not have a single violent crime reported while Westwood had nine. The boroughs had 35 and 49 property crimes reported, respectively.

River Vale was ranked at No. 1 for the second consecutive year. It logged one violent crime and 15 property crimes. It boasts a property crime rate of just 2.59 per 1,000 residents, according to the website.
Other Bergen County municipalities ranked in the top 20 were: Tenafly at No. 5, New Milford at No. 9, Bergenfield at No. 12, and Hasbrouck Heights at No. 13.
