WESTWOOD, NJ — Westwood Police had to report the names of officers who were subject to major discipline in 2021. There was one, who was suspended 15 days.

The state Attorney General’s Office released a report detailing any “major” disciplinary consequences law enforcement officers faced in New Jersey’s municipalities. Eight Bergen County agencies reported officers had been fired, demoted or suspended five or more days in 2021.

This is the first full year the Office of the Attorney General released these reports. Last year, the AG’s office released the names and agencies of officers who were fired, demoted or suspended five or more days from June 15, 2020 to the end of the calendar year.
