Westwood Resident's Ice Cream Flavor is Finalist in Contest
Joyce P.'s "peppermint bark" ice cream is in the final 10 competitors for Baskin-Robbins' "Next Favorite Flavor Contest."

A Westwood resident's ice cream flavor is in the running to be a Baskin-Robbins flavor of the month.
Joyce P. created the "peppermint bark" flavor with white mousse ice cream, a ribbon of dark fudge and peppermint candy and chocolate flakes sprinkled in as a part of the company's online "Next Favorite Flavor Contest."
"It's holiday! It's colorful! It's an amazing scoop flavor," Joyce, whose full name was not available, wrote in her entry.

Joyce declined to be interviewed, according to a company rep, but she wrote in her entry that she recently lost 150 pounds and never had to give up ice cream.

If Joyce wins, her flavor will be a Baskin-Robbins "flavor of the month" later this year and she will receive a three-night trip for two to Los Angeles to meet the company's culinary team and bring the new flavor to life.
