Perth Amboy Man, 25, Killed While Driving A Motorcycle

Police say his motorbike was struck by a car as he was attempting to turn onto Convery Boulevard Friday evening:

PERTH AMBOY, NJ — A man operating a motorcycle was struck by a car and killed Friday evening in the city of Perth Amboy, said Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone.

The fatal crash happened at approximately 5:55 p.m. Friday: Authorities received a 911 call about a serious crash in the area of Kamm Road and Convery Boulevard, involving a motorcycle and two other vehicles.

Upon arrival, authorities located the driver of the motorcycle, Michael Fernandez, 25, of Perth Amboy, seriously injured. He was taken to the area's trauma hospital, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, where he succumbed to his injuries and died.

Police say Fernandez was attempting to turn onto Convery Boulevard when he was hit by the larger car. The sedan then crashed into the third vehicle.

The driver of the sedan was minorly injured. The other car struck by the sedan had three occupants inside, all of whom were transported to Raritan Bay Medical Center and treated and released the same day.
