Public Comment Sought on Rambaut Lake, Dam

The Township Committee will hold a special meeting at 7 p.m. June 22 for the purpose of discussing potential solutions to the litigation filed by Beekmere Inc. against the township and individual homeowners in the vicinity of Rambaut Lake.

The meeting will follow a where discussion ensued on potential solutions for a deteriorating dam at the lake. Homeowners, who maintain the lake and dam, have been by the state Department of Environmental Protection to complete an engineering assessment of the dam as well as likely costly repairs.

However, the homeowners don't have the funding or the legal standing to win loans to solve the problem on their own. They've asked for the governing body's assistance; the committee has called the prior and upcoming meeting to offer a forum to hear from the community about potential solutions.
