Fire Erupts In Wyckoff Pizzeria: Police
Firefighters battled flames at Pizzeria Mandara after a fridge motor overheated, officials said.

WYCKOFF, NJ —A small fire started in the kitchen of a local pizzeria after a fridge motor overheated, authorities said.
The fire was triggered by a malfunctioning refrigerator motor inside Pizzeria Mandara in Wyckoff, police Lt. Joseph Soto said.
After a forced entry, crews made quick work of the fire, which was confined to the kitchen area and caused no additional damage to the Franklin Avenue restaurant or the apartments above it, police and fire officials said.

The overheated motor, an investigation found, ignited materials stored on top of the refrigerator, Soto said.
Firefighters were alerted to the fire at about 11:10 p.m., and arrived to find light-to-moderate smoke coming from inside the restaurant at the Boulder Run shopping mall. The fire was extinguished, and ventilation and overhaul were performed, officials said.
