Franklin Lakes Resident Appointed to NJ Vietnam Veterans' Memorial Foundation Board of Trustees

Francis Crotty not only served in the Vietnam War, but was also involved in the Wyckoff YMCA, recreational sports, veteran events and more.

Franklin Lakes resident and Vietnam War veteran Francis P. Crotty has been appointed into the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial Foundation’s Board of Trustees as Secretary.

During the Vietnam War, Crotty served as a Military Intelligence Analyst and an Interpreter and Interrogator in the 25th Infantry Division and the 1st Air Cavalry Division. He was awarded the South Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry Bronze Star and Army Commendation Medal and has served on the Board of Directors of the Wyckoff YMCA - the largest YMCA in New Jersey - for the past 28 years. He has also helped organize Memorial Day and Veterans Day events in Berkshire County, MA for 20 years.

Throughout his legal career, Crotty has engaged in the general practice of law, with an emphasis on trial practice, specializing in personal injury, medical malpractice and products liability. He has also handled a substantial number of property damage and subrogation claims and numerous construction cases, according to a press release.

Some of Crotty’s recreation sports accomplishments include coaching a variety of boys and girls club and town athletic teams, including basketball, baseball, softball and soccer for ten years and serving as the Commissioner of the Wyckoff Travel Basketball Program for four years.

In the late 1990s, Crotty was also Treasurer and Vice President of the Ramapo High School Sports Booster Organization and is currently the Race Director for the Wyckoff-Franklin Lakes Triathlon, which is the largest and longest running multisport race in New Jersey. Crotty has also competed in more than 75 triathlons over the course of 25 years, often qualifying for Nationals.
