Wyckoff Town Administrator Announces Bid For Wayne Council
"I look forward to discussing Wayne's future in the weeks and months to come," Republican candidate Matthew Cavallo said.

WYCKOFF, NJ — Wyckoff Township Administrator Matthew Cavallo has announced he is running for the Wayne Municipal Council to represent the 5th Ward.
"I look forward to hitting the pavement in the upcoming months and speaking to the community about their concerns and needs," Cavallo said Tuesday in a social media post.
Cavallo, who was named administrator in 2021, has deep connections to the Wayne community. An active volunteer in Wayne for more than 20 years, he presently serves as first aid and safety commissioner, and as a zoning board of adjustment member in the township.

"The opportunity to serve the Township of Wayne and the residents of the 5th Ward is an absolute honor," Cavallo said. "I can bring a unique perspective to the council and want to help make decisions that will benefit the entire community and guide the town on the right path."

Cavallo will run in the Republican primary for the seat, now held by Democrat Fran Ritter, and was endorsed on Tuesday by the Republican organization along with another newcomer and four incumbents for each of Wayne's six wards.
The slate, WRRO Chair Brian Burns said, "will keep Wayne moving in the right direction as one of the strongest Republican towns in New Jersey."
Each of the candidates, Burns continued, are "principled Republicans who will support Mayor (Christopher) Vergano and Wayne's fiscally conservative management as we look to the future."
Cavallo is also chief financial officer to the borough of Montvale and is a member of Passaic County's Young Republican Organization.
"I look forward to discussing Wayne’s brighter future in the weeks and months to come," Cavallo added.
