- Albuquerque Fire Rescue responded to an abandoned structure fire on Monday morning. The fire occurred near University and Lomas by the University of New Mexico around 10:00 a.m. A locked abandoned building reportedly makes extinguishing a fire difficult, but the department was able to extinguish the fire quickly. The cause of the fire is under investigation. (KRQE News 13)
- An Albuquerque research laboratory has been fined by the United States Department of Agriculture. The $6,200 fine is for the deaths of two macaque monkeys in 2019 at Lovelace Biomedical. The first monkey was killed during a face-mask inhalation procedure and the second monkey died of dehydration in an enclosure. (Albuquerque Journal)
- An Albuquerque man has chosen to fight hate with love. Addison Foskey's Pride flag was ripped apart last week. Foskey has chosen to cover his entire yard in rainbow decorations in response. "I am not mad about the vandalism, I am mad about the intent behind the act," reports Foskey. He has been writing the names of supporters on the flags he is placing around his yard. (KOB 4)
