Here are the top three stories today in Albuquerque:

  1. The city of Albuquerque's Public Art Program is celebrating its 45th year of operation. Throughout those years, the program has amassed over 1,000 pieces of art for the public to enjoy across the city. The director of the city's Arts and Culture division, Shelle Sanchez, says that there are plenty of blue-sky days ahead where residents are invited to walk, run, hike, or bike through their open spaces and trails. (Albuquerque Journal)
  2. On Friday, Mar. 24, the Albuquerque Police Department investigated a suspected bomb threat near 4th and Mescalero. Officials say that witnesses claim a hand grenade was placed on a parked vehicle after a suspicious person pulled up to their business. Upon inspection, the bomb squad confirmed the grenade found was harmless. (KRQE News 13)
  3. With New Mexico's colder weather pattern this year, officials say freezing and thawing temperatures could take a toll on the roads causing more potholes. The New Mexico Department of Transportation announced that with many colder-than-normal days this late in March, they're seeing the potential for more cracks and obstructions to arise as residents make their weekly commutes.
