  1. The Wizard of Oz is making its way back to the Albuquerque Little Theater for the first time in a while, featuring 28 cast members this will be the largest show the theater has run since the pandemic. Xandra Michele will be filling in the starring role playing Dorothy and making her debut at the ALT. The show will run from Jun. 2 to Jun. 25 with three "mask required" shows accommodating those who are immunocompromised or those who are still not comfortable being out in crowded areas. You can purchase tickets by clicking here. (Albuquerque Journal)
  2. Shane Mitchell was arrested earlier this week after Albuquerque officers were able to identify his true identity from a tattoo that identified him. Mitchell was found in a field with no trespassing signs by officers on bike patrol and he told officers that his name was Shawn Michaels and his birth date was Apr. 20, 1990. When he asked officers to take him to a hospital for treatment a tattoo on his left arm revealed the information he provided them did not match the tattoo. Mitchell was later arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and intent to distribute, criminal trespass, concealing identity, and more. (KRQE News 13)
  3. A plea hearing for 32-year-old Jimmy Lopez has been pushed back to Jun. 2. Lopez is accused of shooting at three Albuquerque police officers from a balcony last May. The three officers involved were responding to a separate incident near Espanola Street and Bell Avenue when officers approaching were fired upon by a rifle. Although the state is considering a plea deal the judge is questioning why the state is willing to accept this, there are more questions surrounding the incident that will be spoken on in the Friday hearing.
