AFR responds to structure fire that displaces 14 (koat.com) — Albuquerque Fire Rescue is managing a structure fire near 421 Broadway Boulevard SE that has displaced 14 residents but caused no reported injuries. Crews contained the blaze, which started outside and spread into a multi-family building’s basement and floors, and one person now faces a misdemeanor arson charge while the property manager arranges temporary lodging.
   

2. Local curling club hopes to expand with Winter Olympics excitement (kob.com) — Albuquerque residents curious about curling can now try the sport locally with the Roadrunner Curling Club, which just hosted its first holiday bonspiel and offers regular “learn to curl” classes. Organizers emphasized that long-term collaboration, not one-off events, is key to improving student economic mobility.
   

4. Bank of America donates Christmas gifts to families in need (koat.com) — Families in need in northeast Albuquerque are getting extra holiday support thanks to a partnership between TenderLove Community Center and Bank of America. The local nonprofit, which helps people transition out of homelessness, is collecting donations to provide Christmas gifts and encourage long-term stability for parents and children.

Rodrigo y Gabriela Celebrate Debut Album 20th Anniversary w/Tour (gratefulweb.com) — Albuquerque music fans can catch Rodrigo y Gabriela performing their entire debut album live at Revel on May 6, 2026, kicking off their 20th anniversary tour.
