Albuquerque home builder donates dog houses to county animal center (krqe.com) — An Albuquerque homebuilding company has built and donated 30 dog houses to Bernalillo County’s Animal Care and Resource Center, helping pets stay safely housed outdoors. If you live in unincorporated Bernalillo County, you can request an evaluation and potentially have one of these dog houses delivered to your home, keeping local animals out of shelters and in their families’ care.

2. Pacific Fusion opens manufacturing facility in Los Lunas (krqe.com) — A billion‑dollar Pacific Fusion energy project is headed for Albuquerque, with a new Los Lunas build center already preparing components for a Mesa del Sol research facility. The company plans a massive pulse‑power “demonstration system” here and expects around 100 workers in Los Lunas by next year, bringing high‑tech jobs and long‑term investment to the metro area.

APD gives details on police shooting following kidnapping and pursuit (kob.com) — Albuquerque police have released new details about an officer-involved shooting on I-40 after a November kidnapping and pursuit that left the suspect hospitalized. APD says the man fired at officers before being shot, and a woman in his vehicle was detained. The case is now under multi-agency review, including Internal Affairs and the Force Review Board for possible policy changes.

Teach Plus New Mexico hosts summit on student economic mobility (ksfr.org) — New Mexico educators, students, and leaders recently met in Santa Fe to tackle how schools can better prepare kids for college and careers, with voices from Albuquerque helping shape the conversation.
