- Albuquerque's Landmarks Commission is considering a proposal that would officially make a bridge on Central in Albuquerque a city landmark. Historic presentation planner Silvia Bolivar said the bridge, which is located between Tingley Drive and Sunset Road, is a historically significant structure of the city. She continued to explain that designating it as an important site would "give the Landmarks Commission the future responsibility and opportunity to honor this critical site because the bridge crossing serves as a physical record of events that helped shape the City of Albuquerque." - A 30-year-old Albuquerque man was arrested after police said he allegedly shot at an Albuquerque Police Department helicopter as it was responding to a call in Northeast
Albuquerque. Officials say Ryan Kolpin was sitting on an apartment balcony when he began shooting at the helicopter, forcing the pilot to immediately shut off the craft's lights and quickly leave the area. Officials reminded the public not to attempt to interfere with helicopter crews via drones, lasers, or by shooting at them. (KOAT New Mexico) - The location of the former private school Hope Connection School in Northeast Albuquerque is slated to become the new location for a local dentistry practice and professional office space. The $5 million development on the two acres of land would provide a new home for the local business Peak Family Dentistry. The firms behind the development are hoping to attract other medical or physician practices to lease out the rest of the space next to the dental practice. (Subscription: The Business Journals)
