  1. "Recyclothes" is an initiative that ensures students in Albuquerque Public Schools have the clothing that they need to feel comfortable in school. The event was sponsored by Locker #505 and facilitated a second-hand clothing collection for distribution at a later date. According to Kim Kerschen, executive director of Locker #505, students in Bernalillo County will receive clothing β€” and, for the first time ever, students in Valencia, Sandoval, and Torrance counties will benefit as well. Clothes can be donated at any time; information on how to donate can be found here. (KOAT New Mexico)
  2. The Albuquerque Police Department is taking steps to limit or reduce the amount of unwarranted force used during arrests. The latest reports from their department show that the situation is improving, but now, they will be taking steps to reduce the number further. According to APD, officers must now follow certain policies using force and are being trained using real-life scenarios. (KRQE News 13)
  3. Officials report that on Friday, Mar. 17, over 40 city workers' cars were found severely damaged at the parking lot on Fourth Street and Marquette Avenue, and inside the parking garage under Civic Plaza. These locations are typically where members of the city council and mayor's office park during the work week. Police arrested 46-year-old Danielle McGee for allegedly damaging the cars with a baseball bat; her reason for reportedly doing so is currently unknown. (KRQE News 13)
