- The City of Albuquerque has announced the closure of Coronado Park. The announcement was made on Monday by Mayor Tim Keller. The closure will reportedly occur next month. The mayor clarified after the NAIOP meeting that his administration has not finalized the park's closure plan. (Albuquerque Journal)
- The first phase of I-40 repaving has been completed. The construction caused significant backups along the interstate while crews worked on the project between Tramway and Tijeras. The Tijeras on-ramp has not been re-opened yet but all three lanes are now open. (KRQE News 13)
- Albuquerque Public Schools' low literacy rate can be tied to New Mexico's poverty levels. In 2019, only 14 percent of economically disadvantaged third graders met or exceeded English language arts proficiency standards, according to the district. 47 percent of non-disadvantaged students met or exceeded proficiency standards. Children living in poverty have less access to books and frequently experience food insecurity at home. (Albuquerque Journal)
