- The Albuquerque City Council voted Monday in favor of several amendments that will increase the amount of money going toward emergency housing support. The amendments more than doubled Mayor Tim Keller's budget for initiatives to address homelessness, raising the total from $7 million to just under $15 million. The budget also allocates $100,000 toward emergency housing for victims of domestic violence. (KOAT New Mexico)
- A local brewery has created a new beer to help benefit turtles. Two dollars from each case sold of the Low n’ Slow Pale Ale from Canteen Brewhouse will go toward the Turtle Survival Alliance and the New Mexico BioPark Society. Stop by the brewhouse this Saturday, May 21, from 12:00-4:00 p.m. for live music, art, and educational activities. (KRQE News 13)
