Here are the top three stories today in Albuquerque:

  1. Some Albuquerque drivers lined up on Saturday for a discount on gasoline. For four hours, Chronic Kings on Broadway offered gas for just $2.38 per gallon. Some drivers even waited for 2 hours in line. The gas station reportedly ran out of gas during the promotion and had to have a tanker bring more. Albuquerque's average gas price is $4.41 per gallon. 2. The City of Albuquerque has officially opened its newest library after years of planning. The International District library will offer more resources to historically underserved neighborhoods. The library offers more than just books. It offers cake pans, Wi-Fi, DVDs, computers, and most importantly - space. City officials hope that the new library will become a symbolic hall for the International District. (KOB 4)
  3. An Albuquerque man convicted of rape has fled after cutting his GPS ankle monitor. The incident has Bernalillo County prosecutors questioning the devices' use. Ralph Vasquez is the fifth person in 2022 to sever a GPS ankle monitor. The monitor is one of the system's strictest conditions - but it doesn't seem to be working. (Santa Fe New Mexican)
