Here are the top three stories in Albuquerque today:

  1. A former Albuquerque Police Department officer accused of rape will reportedly remain behind bars until his trial. Johnny Garcia's attorney fought to get him released but the state argued that Garcia's actions after the accusation prevent them from releasing him. Garcia tried to contact witnesses and gathered information on the alleged victim. The state reportedly has about 20 witnesses ready to testify. (KRQE News 13)
  2. Albuquerque Public Schools is hosting a Job Fair today from noon to 2:00 p.m. The fair is at the district's professional development complex on Louisiana Boulevard. The fair will follow an internal transfer expo that ends at 11:00 a.m. Participants are encouraged to bring resumes while dressing to impress. Jobs might be offered on the spot. (Albuquerque Journal)
  3. The Albuquerque metro area will experience heavy moisture content throughout the end of the week. The forecast is due to a cold front pushing through the state while building pressure. The monsoon moisture will surge through the state in a repeated manner. (KRQE News 13)
