Here are the top three stories in Albuquerque today:

  1. The Albuquerque Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred in the city's foothills area. The incident occurred on Sunday morning in an apartment at the Four Hills Studios between Juan Tabo and Tramway boulevards. Responding officers were met with evidence of a violent crime surrounding the deceased victim. (KOAT New Mexico)
  2. The City of Albuquerque hosted its Bike 2 Wherever Day on Friday. The event is meant to encourage residents to opt for riding a bike over other forms of transportation. Bike 2 Wherever was previously called "Bike to Work Day" but was changed during the COVID-19 pandemic to reflect the new work-from-home culture. (KRQE News 13)
  3. An Albuquerque Police Department officer has been arrested for sexually assaulting an airport security guard. Johnny Garcia allegedly lured the security guard into a closet while on duty to sexually assault her. Garcia has been placed on unpaid leave after being released from jail. (KOB)
