Here are the top three stories today in Albuquerque:

  1. A new exhibit at the Albuquerque Museum examines the life of a controversial Aztec figure - La Malinche. The exhibit titled "Traitor, Survivor, Icon: The Legend of La Malinche" will be presented through the beginning of September. La Malinche is widely regarded as a traitor in Mexico but the culture is a little different in New Mexico. The exhibit aims to explore these differences. (KRQE News 13)
  2. Bernalillo County is offering 600 discounted rides through the weekend during its "Take A Ride On Us" program. To participate in the program, simply use "Pride22" code to receive $10 off an Uber ride. The discount cannot be used for Uber Eats. (KOB 4)
  3. Albuquerque leaders have outlined a new plan for the city's Safe Outdoor Spaces. $750,000 has been allocated through the city's budget to create the program's spaces. Each space will have roughly 40 to 50 spaces for tents with a locking opaque fence. The city will be providing security. (KOB 4)
