  1. The city is launching a project where residents can have a say in renaming parks and other community spaces after people who have made an impact in the area. Examples of this have been seen in recent years, such as the renaming of Washington Park to Bennie Hargrove Park, but this can also be done with everyday people who may have left a significant impact like a golf hole that was named after a frequent golfer in the community. If you have any recommendations you can click here to nominate them. (KOB 4)
  2. Local celebrity Kate Gerwin will once again be featured on television as she will be partnering with Netflix for another limited series. The local bartender will be debuting a Los Angeles restaurant pop-up called "Netflix Bites," which will be opening on Jun. 30 for just five months. Gerwin first appeared on Netflix in last year's show "Drink Masters," where she made a name for herself by making it to the grand finale and becoming the first U.S. citizen and woman to win an international bartending award. 3. Albuquerque is getting a new multi-purpose court later this month courtesy of LEGO and the U.S. Soccer Foundation. This new court will feature benches, lockers, and goals to go with its large 50x84-foot court for open play. The official ribbon-cutting ceremony will be taking place on Jun. 22 at 2:00 p.m. at the HB & Lucille Horn Family YMCA. The local YMCA will be in charge of the ongoing maintenance at the court and members and non-members will have access, the court will be open the same hours as the YMCA, Monday through Thursday and Saturday-Sunday.
