Here are the top three stories today in Albuquerque:
- Arsenal FX has opened a new satellite office in Albuquerque. The California-based visual effects company provides post-production effects for the city's growing film industry. The company's leadership pointed at the state's natural beauty and tax incentive program as the reasons for the new office. (Albuquerque Journal)
- A new report by the Legislative Finance Committee was presented to the county's Courts, Corrections, and Crime Committee on Monday. The report shows violent crimes have increased by 30 percent in Bernalillo County since 2014 while arrests and convictions decreased by the same percentage. The report did not indicate any reason for the occurrence of the concerning trend. (KSFR)
- An Albuquerque-based company is testing its new 3D printing process for solid-state rocket-motor fuel at White Sands Missile Range. The test was conducted on Saturday for the potentially groundbreaking rocket fuel manufacturing process. X-Bow's breakthrough would be used to launch vehicles into orbit and sub-orbit. (ABQ Journal)
