Here are the top three stories in Albuquerque today:
- Google and the City of Albuquerque are teaming up to teach in-demand skills for technology sector jobs. The city's Economic Development Department is offering scholarships for hundreds of residents to train through Google's Career Certificate program. The programs require no previous experience and can be completed in 3 to 6 months. (Albuquerque Journal)
- The Adelante Development Center's Back-in Use program is collecting medical devices to give to local individuals in need. The program is collecting wheelchairs, walkers, or assistive devices for those with disabilities and seniors. The devices are cleaned, inspected, and given directly to local residents. - The Albuquerque Police Department has created a TikTok account. The account was created on Wednesday and is meant to recruit new staff. The TikTok account will reportedly allow the department to interact with a younger audience. The department has been dealing with a staffing shortage for the last few years. (KRQE News 13)
