- Civic Plaza's splash pad returns this summer during the day, seven days a week. The splash pad consists of a water geyser grid that is free and open to the public until 6:00 p.m. each day. The splash pad first opened in 2018. Remember to bring a towel and to wear sunscreen! (KRQE News 13)
- The Albuquerque Police Department is investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash. The incident occurred Thursday night at the intersection of Osuna Rd. NE and Wyoming Rd. NE. One person died from injuries sustained during the crash. Alcohol and speed appear to be a factor in the crash and the surviving driver has been charged in the investigation. (KRQE News 13)
- A 14-year-old student was released to a guardian after attempting to bring a gun into Volcano Vista High School on May 24. The unidentified student was deemed to be a level 3 low-risk individual and was "not to be arrested". There have been almost a dozen gun-related threats among students since March, according to Albuquerque Public Schools. (Albuquerque Journal)
