Here are the top three stories in Albuquerque today:
- Albuquerque Mayor Tim Keller gave the State of the City address on Saturday afternoon. The address primarily outlined the city's recent achievements while detailing how the city plan's to focus its efforts moving forward. The main focus was on how the city plans to address the recent spike in crime. (KOB 4)
- ABQ BioPark has released a statement regarding a recent attack by a city councilor last week. Councilor Tammy Fiebelkorn showed photos of animals in reportedly poor conditions, with heritage chickens and turkeys missing feathers. ABQ BioPark reports that the missing feathers are due to attitude shifts — "[the birds] are pretty broody this time of year" — as well as recent weather. Councilor Fiebelkorn reportedly still stands by her previous statements. (KRQE News 13)
- An Albuquerque family is searching for the stolen bike of Joe Garcia, who was murdered on Jun. 13. Garcia's body was found lying on the ground near Coal and Buena Vista. The cherished bike holds a lot of memories for the surviving family. Anyone with information about the murder of the missing bike is urged to contact the Albuquerque Police Department. (KRQE News 13)
