- As part of the Housing Forward initiative, the city is looking to transform hotels into housing properties. In addressing the housing crisis in Albuquerque, the city sent out a call for owners interested in selling their property to become part of this project. Officials are keeping an open mind, saying any size or place isn't off limits. Those interested will answer a few questions about the number of rooms, condition, and zoning, and can take that first step here. (KOB 4)
- Plans to restore and revitalize downtown Albuquerque's Historic Kress Building are finally in the works after four years. After the passing of the previous owner, Anna Muellar, her sister Frankie Veronda of California, and ABQ businesswoman Victoria Vandame, have been working to reopen the venue while still honoring its historic essence. There are an array of ideas and possibilities for the buildingβincluding a roller rink, speakeasy, or recording studioβbut ultimately they hope for it to become a catch-all space to bring beauty and community to downtown. (KRQE News 13)
- Police are asking the community for support in solving a homicide from July 2022. Suzanne Miller was found shot on in the Trumbull Village neighborhood in Albuquerque near San Pablo Street and Bell Avenue. No further details have been released at this time, but people with information are encouraged to contact the police and can remain anonymous. CrimeStoppers is offering a reward of $2,500.
