Kindergarteners "Publish" Book on Aquatic Animals

The elementary school students threw a party for parents to show off their book writing skills.

Jennifer Brooks' kindergarten class celebrated the completion of their April book reports on aquatic animals with a "Publisher's Party" on April 30 at Babylon Elementary School.

Throughout the month, the students learned and wrote about exotic water creatures like sea otters, manatees, puffer fish, dolphins and sea jellies. The party was the perfect occasion for the children to share their reports with the dozens of classmates, parents and teachers in attendance.

"We had the opportunity to visit a local aquarium, which gave the kids a wonderful interactive experience of our lesson plan," Brooks said. "The students were very excited about the project, and they had fun while learning key writing and grammar skills."
