Reminder: Babylon Schools Budget Meeting Thurs. Night

Spring is almost just about here and that means one thing across Long Island – it's school budget season.

The Babylon School District will hold a Board of Education Work/Study Meeting and Budget Presentation at Babylon Junior-Senior High School on Thursday, March 21 at 7:30 p.m.

The most recent draft budget proposes a nearly 5.3 percent increase in the budget to over $48 million, while raising the tax levy 3.1 percent. There was, however, a $1.5 million gap in the last version.

The budget presentations allow the Board of Education and members of the public to have knowledge of the budget process step-by-step and give their input and ideas.
