Vazquez Leads Comeback Win, Babylon Advances to State Finals

When in doubt, the Panthers simply let Fernando Vazquez figure it out.

The star senior guard had a playoff game for the ages, putting up 40 points in a come-from-behind win for the Babylon Panthers over Westhill High School, 67-57, in the Class B New York State semifinals at Glen Falls on Friday night.

The Panthers found themselves down 37-24 at halftime and, according to MSG Varsity, down by as many as 15 points during the game, but Vazquez tough play helped bring Babylon back.

Vazquez hit two three-pointers during the final quarter to seal the game and send the Panthers to the state finals tomorrow evening against Batavia or Watervliet.
