3rd Annual Run & Plunge Is Saturday In Brightwaters
Proceeds go to benefit Operation VEST, which works with U.S. veterans to prevent suicide.
BRIGHTWATERS, NY — The third annual 22 Degree Run & Plunge is Saturday in Brightwaters, and the weather is expected to be partly sunny and, well, cold.
It starts at 10 a.m. with a 2.2 mile run/walk through Brightwaters, followed by a Polar Plunge at 11 a.m. into the Great South Bay. You can still register for the run, the plunge, or both. Pricing and details at 22degreerun.com
Proceeds go to benefit Operation VEST. Every day, more than 20 US veterans die by suicide, organizers said. Operation VEST’s mission is to eradicate suicide one at a time by addressing the different needs of the veteran population and to create awareness and remove the stigma surrounding mental health so veterans and active military can heal.
