Art Therapy Saved This Bay Shore Sculpture's Life: Report
Bay Shore's TJ Savino considered suicide before art saved his life, according to one report.
BAY SHORE, NY — Art and dance saved the life of Bay Shore sculptor TJ Savino, according to a recent article by Newsday.
In 2019, his depression got so severe that he left a suicide note on his desk at work and intended to asphyxiate himself at home, he told the newspaper.
“I felt absolutely worthless,” he told Newsday. “I didn’t have anything to look forward to, and (I believed) that I had been an abject failure for years.”

A co-worker saw the note and called the police, essentially saving his life.
