Bay Shore Man Arrested For String Of Restaurant Burglaries

Police say the man burglarized seven restaurants in West Babylon, Deer Park, Lindenhurst and North Babylon from September until August.

BAY SHORE, NY—On Monday, the Suffolk County Police Department (SCPD) announced the arrest of a man they say burglarized seven restaurants over the course of almost a year. Anthony Myles, 57, of Bay Shore, was taken into custody on Monday in Bohemia.

According to the SCPD, Myles targeted eateries in the First Precinct, in Lindenhurst, West Babylon, North Babylon and Deer Park. The first burglary was in September 2020 at Chung Hing Chinese Food in West Babylon. On August 25, police say he robbed Nazar Turkish Restaurant and Market in Deer Park.

The other businesses burglarized are: China Wok in Lindenhurst, Paradise Caribbean Restaurant in West Babylon, Top China in North Babylon, Rincon-Guanaco Restaurant in Deer Park, and Golden Star Chinese Restaurant in Deer Park.

The incidents all took place after midnight and during early morning hours.

Myles is charged with seven counts of burglary in the 3rd degree and is due to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Tuesday. He was previously arrested on August 18 and charged with nine burglaries in Suffolk County, accused of kicking in the front doors of a dance studio, a church, a gym and other businesses and stealing property.
