Brentwood Police Blotter: Rent Scam, Cocaine, Burglary
Brentwood residents arrested in connection with drugs, burglary and housing rental scams.
BRENTWOOD, NY — Curious about what's going on in your neighborhood? These are recent incidents reported in the Brentwood area from April 22 through April 28.
The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.
- April 22: Jordan Rivera, 18, of Westwood Drive in Brentwood, stole cash from PC Nails and Skin Care on Brentwood road, police said. He also stole iPads, iPhones and a laptop at an undisclosed store that he entered by breaking glass with a rock. He was arrested and charged with two counts of third-degree burglary and illegal entry with intent, police said.
- April 23: Taurean James, 41, of Yarnell Street in Brentwood, stole multiple baby items from a Target in Huntington Station. When confronted by an employee, he "punched them in the face," police said. Police later found that he was in possession of cocaine. He was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree robbery with aid, police said.
- April 26: Teresa Granada, 59, of Heyward Street in Brentwood, collected money from several people promising to rent them an apartment but then did not actually have an apartment available to rent. She was arrested and charged with six counts of fourth-degree grand larceny, one count of petit larceny and one count of first-degree scheme to defraud.
