Fire Island Ferries Resumes Service
Flooding on both sides of the trip caused Fire Island Ferries, Inc. to suspend freight and passenger service on Wednesday.

BAY SHORE, NY — Fire Island Ferries, Inc. has re-started freight and passenger service in Bay Shore.
"We know that today may see residual flooding near high tide but we are hopeful that we can reach all the docks safely," Captain Morgan Mooney told Patch. "A major concern is debris in the water."
Robyn Silvestri, Executive Director of Save The Great South Bay, said Wednesday that the debris could include everything from backyard items to floating hot tubs and docks that have been damaged. "This is not good for the Bay," she said.
