Motorcyclist Killed in Bay Shore Crash: PD

The driver struck another vehicle, police say.

BAY SHORE, NY — A motorcyclist was killed in Bay Shore early Sunday morning, Suffolk police said.

He was driving a 2006 Suzuki motorcycle southbound at approximately 12:15 a.m. when he struck the rear passenger side of a northbound 2016 Volkswagen sedan driven by 32-year-old Eric Ferrand-Diaz of Bay Shore, police said.

According to police, Ferrand-Diaz attempted to turn left onto Spur Drive North off of 5th avenue when the other driver hit him.

The motorcyclist was transported to South Shore University Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said. Ferrand-Diaz was not injured.

No charges were filed in the crash, police said. Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks.
