Pedestrian Hit and Killed In Bay Shore: Police

An unidentified pedestrian died after getting hit by a 2015 Honda CRV in Bay Shore on Friday, police say.

BAY SHORE, NY — A pedestrian was killed Friday after being struck by a vehicle in Bay Shore, Suffolk police said.

According to police, David Camacho, 75, of Bay Shore, was driving a 2015 Honda CRV westbound on Pine Aire Drive at the intersection of 5th Avenue, when he struck a man walking in the roadway around 5 p.m.

The man was transported to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore, where he was pronounced dead, police said. Police have not yet released his identity.

Camacho was not injured, police said.

The Honda was impounded for a safety check.
