Police ID Motorcyclist Killed in Bay Shore Crash
The Brentwood man, 32, died crashing into a car in Bay Shore on April 15, police say.
BAY SHORE, NY – Police have identified the motorcyclist who died after crashing into a car in Bay Shore on April 15 as Bryant Ortiz, 32, of Brentwood.
He was driving a 2006 Suzuki motorcycle southbound at approximately 12:15 a.m. when he struck the rear passenger side of a northbound 2016 Volkswagen sedan driven by 32-year-old Eric Ferrand-Diaz of Bay Shore, Suffolk County police said.
According to police, Ferrand-Diaz attempted to turn left onto Spur Drive North off of 5th avenue when Ortiz hit him.

Ortiz was transported to South Shore University Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said. Ferrand-Diaz was not injured.
No charges were filed in the crash, police said. Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks.
