Brooklyn Man Dies A Week After Eastern Parkway Hit-And-Run: Cops

BROOKLYN, NY — A man who was hit crossing Eastern Parkway earlier this month has died from his injuries, according to police.

Christopher Marshall, 39, died in the hospital on Friday, 10 days after he was hit by a car while walking across the crosswalk near Bushwick Avenue around 6 a.m. on Nov. 9, police said.

Marshall, from Flatbush, was found at the intersection with head trauma and had been in critical condition since the hit-and-run, police said.

Police are still searching for the unknown vehicle that hit him. As of Monday, there were no arrests made in the crash, according to the NYPD.

Marshall's death comes in a record-breaking year for traffic deaths in New York City, particularly in Brooklyn.

Late last month, four people were killed in a single weekend on Brooklyn's streets. Another man was also killed on Bushwick Avenue earlier this month. A teen driver has been arrested in that incident.

Through September, there were 63 fatalities recorded in Brooklyn, according to a Transportation Alternatives study.
