Early Morning Bed-Stuy Fire, One Person Hospitalized: FDNY

A fire in a vacant building on Bedford Avenue took over an hour to douse, according to the fire department.

BED-STUY, BROOKLYN — A fire broke out Wednesday morning in a vacant Bed-Stuy building, sending one person to the hospital, according to the FDNY.

The flames were first reported at 5:42 a.m. at 915 Bedford Ave, near Willoughby Avenue, and brought 60 smoke eaters to fight the blaze, officials said.

One person was sent to Woodhull Hospital with unspecified injuries, according to the FDNY.

Officials added that they did not know at the time where the person was found.

By 7 a.m., the fire was out but the cause of the blaze is still under investigation, officials said.
