UPDATE: Keyana Evans has returned home safe, police said Wednesday, after days of anguish for her family. According to the New York Daily News, 19-year-old Evans, who is schizophrenic, sent a text message to a family member saying she’d been raped while she was gone. But the Daily News reported: “There was no immediate indication that she had been sexually assaulted, according to a police source, who chalked up the disturbing texts to the fact that she had been off her medication for several days.” Evans reportedly turned herself over to police officers in Times Square after the NYPD sent out a missing alert for the teen Tuesday.
