Man Mugged By Wine Bottle Wielding Thief: NYPD

A rider on the J train near the Myrtle Avenue subway station was robbed of nearly $200 by man armed with wine.

BED-STUY, BROOKLYN — A man was mugged by a subway sommelier who threatened to hit the man with a wine bottle, police said.

At about 6 p.m. on Feb. 15, a man riding the J train near the Myrtle Avenue subway station was approached by another man who raised a wine bottle towards him and demanded his wallet, police said.

The victim handed over his wallet and the wine-bearing thief took off with about $190, officials said.

Police said no injuries were reported.

The NYPD released surveillance stills of a person they claim is connected to the theft.
