Subway Debris Smashes Car Sunroof In Bed Stuy: Reports

The MTA is investigating reports of subway debris falling near Myrtle Avenue and Broadway Friday, officials said.

BEDFORD-STUYVESANT, BROOKLYN — Subway debris from an elevated track smashed through the sunroof of a car in Bed-Stuy Friday, according to reports.

A piece of the elevated tracks near the Myrtle Avenue J, M, Z station on Broadway fell and shattered the sunroof of a black SUV, according CBS News.

CBS tweeted a photo of the car parked on Myrtle Avenue, between Lewis Avenue and Broadway, and underneath a decommissioned track.

Transit investigators were unable to find debris that might have caused the reported damage but continue to investigate, MTA Communications Director Tim Minton said.

The FDNY reports medics rushed an injured person to Wyckoff Hospital from Broadway and Dodworth Street, about six blocks from the station, but it was not immediately clear if the two incidents were related.

This is the second reports of plummeting subway debris this week. A rusty bolt fell from a Queens track Tuesday.
