Violent Muggers Prowl Broadway, Cops Say

BEDFORD-STUYVESANT, BROOKLYN — Violent muggers have been pummeling people on Broadway and running of with hundreds of dollars in cash and loot, police said.

The three men first attacked a 37-year-old man on Broadway and Gates Avenue about 1:45 a.m. on Aug. 8, said police.

They repeatedly punched the man then grabbed $200 in cash, credit cards and a cellphone before running away, according to police.

The 37-year-old required hospitalization and was treated for injuries to his right eye at Wyckoff Medical Center, said police.

The trio struck next on Broadway and Madison Street, where they knocked a 28-year-old man to the ground about 10:20 p.m. on Aug. 15, said police.

Once again, they began throwing punches then grabbed his cellphone and a wallet with $365 inside it, police said.

The man was treated for bruising by medics, said police.

Police released images Wednesday night of three men seen near the second mugging whom they would like to question.
