Woman Stabbed To Death In Her Bed-Stuy Home, Police Say
The 55-year-old woman was killed early Monday morning, police said. A man has been taken into custody in connection with the attack.

BEDFORD-STUYVESANT, BROOKLYN — A woman was stabbed to death in her Bed-Stuy home early Monday morning, police said.
Authorities rushed Laverne Spencer to Woodhull Hospital but she was pronounced dead on arrival, according to authorities. She was 55 years old.
Spencer, who police identified Monday afternoon, was found by officers with multiple stab wounds to her torso and legs in a home in her home in the 480 block of Gates Avenue, the NYPD said in a statement. Officers responded to a 911 call to the home at about 12:18 a.m. on Monday, according to police.

An NYPD spokesman told Patch that a 53-year-old man has been taken into custody in connection with the fatal attack, but no charges have been filed as of Monday morning at 10:30 a.m. The spokesman could not immediately confirm that the attack was domestic violence-related.
