Accident Shuts Down Newbridge Road

An accident on Newbridge Road near the intersection of Oak Street shut down Newbridge Road briefly Friday afternoon.

Bellmore firefighters and Nassau County Police officers were on scene, which was directly in front of Bellmore-Merrick Pediatrics. 

The road was closed in both directions in between Linden and Oak Streets. Traffic is being diverted to side roads.

According to Bellmore Fire Department's Public Information Officer Vincent Scaduto, one person was transported to an area hospital and another refused aid at the scene.
