The Bellmore Fire Department's Emergency Squad will host its first open house on Sunday.
Members of the EMS Squad will be on hand to showcase their skills and to answer any questions residents may have about the services they provide.
The Town of Hempstead Public Safety Officer will provide information about bicycle safety and safe car seat installation to families, the founder of AMT Children of Hope, Tim Jaccard, will be there to talk about the Baby Safe Haven program and there will also be information available on various health and safety programs for everyone from children and senior citizens.
"This is an event to invite the people of Bellmore into our home so they can see some of the great things we do every day," EMS Captain Maureen Curley said. "They see the shiny ambulances and trucks, but they never get to meet the people who ride them. This is a great way to show people how hard we work at being ready to help them when they need us."
The open house will take place at the Bellmore Fire Department Headquarters at 230 Pettit Ave. from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
